Research

Supporting research is one of the major goals of the National Kidney Foundation of Louisiana (NKFL) and the Medical Advisory Board (MAB)  is committed to developing an endowment to provide annual, competitive, peer-reviewed research funding for programs in the state of Louisiana. This fund, the Frank Gonzalez Memorial Research Fund, will enable us to post annual requests for proposals for research funding from institutions and organizations within the state of Louisiana . Proposals will be reviewed on their scientific merit by an independent review board.

On a national level, the National Kidney Foundation is second only to the National Institutes of Health in its sponsorship of kidney and urologic research and training.
