Kidney Camp
Every year the National Kidney Foundation of Louisiana sends young patients from across the state to a very special camp in Burton, Texas. The camp is a unique summer experience specifically designed for young people with kidney disease or who have had a transplant. It provides a place where all children, regardless of their barriers, are allowed to experience independence, increased advantages, and community living skills. Kids are able to test their physical abilities, explore the great outdoors, build lasting friendships, and create memories that can be shared for years to come. Dedicated doctors, nurses and even dietitians volunteer their time to meet the special needs of all children. Our smallest heroes are able to discover life by overcoming obstacles with those just like them, in barrier free facilities; returning home with a sense of self esteem and promise.
You can make the difference in the lives of these special young people by turning their ambitions into a reality. Make the choice to support a child whose parents may not have the ability to send them on their own. Choose to be the difference in their lives this summer by assisting with financial needs like: room and board, medical expenses, transportation, and much more!
